Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre 50/50 Cash Lottery: Lucky Winner!
Red Deer, Alberta – The CACAC 50/50 Cash Lottery is now complete and the lucky winner has claimed their prize! Congratulations Blaine Biberdorf on winning the Grand Prize – $187,645!
This year, the CACAC 50/50 Cash Lottery was bigger than ever with the introduction of 2 Loyalty Prizes and 3 Early Birds prizes in addition to the Grand Prize Cash Jackpot. All prizes were generously donated by local community businesses in the Central Alberta area. Prizes included ski resort passes, hotels stays, shopping sprees and gift cards – all helping to give that extra reason to buy a ticket.
The almost sold-out 2021 lottery is considered a huge success by the CACAC. The jackpot grew to be $375,290 – surpassing last year’s pot by over $126,000!
“The success of this year’s 50/50 Lottery is a celebration of our supporters, volunteers and sponsors. We are thrilled to have the community rally for all the children supported at the CACAC, and we want to convey our sincerest gratitude. The business community has been challenged, particularly in this past year, and charity work faces the same impact. We will continue to work hard and collaborate with all of our partners and supporters to ensure the level of service to our most vulnerable is not affected.” Alaine Martin, Director of Business & Community Development
Blaine Biberdorf of Grande Prairie, Alberta was this year’s lucky winner, taking home the all-cash grand prize. Biberdorf purchased his winning ticket back in October when the lottery was first launched online. He was already familiar with the organization and has supported the CACAC in the past. Biberdorf notes, “I have family in Central Alberta, and am familiar with the good work done at the CACAC, so supporting was an easy decision”. As for what he is going to do with his winnings, “We plan to pay off some debt, have a holiday when we are able to travel, and probably invest the rest.”
The CACAC would like to thank every single person who purchased a lottery ticket(s) this year – your ticket truly will make a difference here in our community. Thanks to the lottery committee who helped put on this campaign – your time and efforts are much appreciated. The CACAC would also like to extend a huge thank you to all of the media partners/sponsors who helped make this fundraiser a success – you continue to stand beside us and have helped us spread our message far and wide across Alberta, generating crucial awareness and creating a lasting impact.
