The 2023 Transforming Practices: Child Abuse and Trauma Conference co-hosted by the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre and Red Deer Polytechnic will aim to increase awareness and contribute to learning how to positively impact the health of children and families.
This conference includes a wide range of speakers and topics in order to help professionals and community members to better understand the issues surrounding child abuse and trauma.
We are fortunate to have guest speaker Dr. Michael Ungar who is the founder and Director of the Resilience Research Centre at Dalhousie University. We also have Dr. Alina Turner, the Co-Founder/Co-President of HelpSeeker Technologies – a social technology and innovation Alberta-based B-Corp, founded in 2018. Our third featured speaker will be Sheldon Kennedy, who is a Member of the Order of Canada and has devoted his life to the prevention of child abuse.
We will also have two break-out session that will feature interesting and informative speakers that will inform and inspire. Lunch will be provided.
